Thinking systemically
(Horn & Brick: Invisible Dynamics; Systemic Constellations in Organizations and Business, Carl-Auer, 2005)
Ø To acknowledge that we all belong to a multitude of different systems (family, peer group, neighbourhood, organization, nation) Ø To see the whole, which is more than the sum of its parts Ø To know that within the system we are all connected to one another Ø To feel that we all belong equally Ø To accept that a change in one part of the system inevitably changes the whole Ø To have insight into often invisible and unconscious laws that operate within the system Ø To have courage to translate insight into required action
To be in harmony with the system means honoring some basic systemic principles: Ø Respect: What is, must be allowed to be Ø A balance of giving and taking Ø Everyone has a right to belong Ø Those who came first have priority Ø Those with more at stake in the whole Ø Competence has higher priority
